I'm not a big one for religion, but I am in favor of a holiday where people try to give of themselves. We should do more of that year round and stop using religion as a reason to justify our fears and hates. This habit of using religion as a tool to treat our fellow humans inhumanly is the reason I dislike organized religion. I have read up on several religions and none of what I've read justifies what I see people do to each other, so why does this happen? The answer is people read into it their own fears and hates to make themselves feel they are just following their religious beliefs and teachings! Too bad this season of peace and good will don't last 365 days a year!

I recently attended a benefit dinner for a friend of mine and her family. Back near the end of June a neighbor knocked on their door and was let in. He then started shooting her, her husband and their son. The police were able to get everyone out but the husband who was held hostage and it ended up with the police shooting the neighbor dead. There was never a real reason for this other than he had had some mental problems and wasn't taking his meds. I had worked with her for close to 20 years before I retired, her husband had been my therapist when I hurt my shoulder and their son had just gotten out of the navy. They still have more surgeries to have and the husband was released form the hospital just a week before the benefit.
I guess the thing that upset me the most was that at this benefit only three other of our former coworkers showed up and they like me were retirees. Some of those people were supposed to be her friends. I just don't understand people, I still would have gone even if I still worked there. Am I wrong to be so upset with these people?

I am not one to get really involved in political situations, but this last weeks news worries me as a seemingly growing problem. Last week some person killed a doctor just because he preformed abortions, he was a long time radical member of an anti abortion group. I am not in favor of abortions in most cases, but I would never kill someone over it. Today someone from a white supremest group killed a guard at the Holocaust Museum on his way to probably kill the people inside, another hate crime. He is 88 years old and is a long time member of this extreme hate group. Again why do people do these things, and why is hate so prevalent at this time? I really wish people would learn that hate only breeds more hate. This country was founded by a diverse group and is strong because of that diversity!

A couple of weeks ago I found a new friend, I just hope she's as good a friend as Ally was. I still miss her very much!

Here it is April 6, and there is about an inch of snow on the ground. The high for today is only supposed to be 35. To top it off in about an hour I start my new job. I hope it goes better than the weather!

What is it about St. Patrick's parties that everyone seems to think they must get blind drunk? I went to the first of several parties I am supposed to attend Sunday. My friend that I drove there got incredibly drunk. When we left he was so bad and so horny that it did him no good. I got him back to his place and he passed out, I put him to bed and left. Fun part is I get to do this again for two more days with other friends too! Being the DD makes you really see what too much drinking does, makes you wonder at it all!

Today my best friend of eight years passed away. I know people would just say she was a dog, but she was always there with a wag and a cuddle. She was more help for me during my depression than anyone else. She was the best friend I ever had, never argued, always listened, and never gave stupid advise. She died of cancer this morning and I'll miss her!

1. I am so glad to see Bush out of office, I believe his 8 years in office is the cause of a lot of our present situation.

Yesterday I got a first class example of how homophobic people can be. I work security at a trucking company gate, I check in and out trucks. I had a driver yesterday at the gate for check out, I've had trouble with him before (he knows I'm Bi), his cargo didn't match his invoice. So this time he told me to check out his cargo he didn't want to get in trouble again. Well his truck had a small load and with his attitude he moved some of the cargo so I could really go through it. After I finished he insisted since I forced the issue I had to reload it. In the process I got a cut on my finger, he freaked. He refused to even touch his truck and I ended up calling a manager. I'm trained to handle small spills, so I bound up my finger and proceeded to clean up the few drops of blood. He refused to drive the truck because some fag had bleed in it. The manager said the blood was properly cleaned up and there was no problem. The driver still refused to drive the truck until it was totally cleaned he wasn't going to be exposed to any fag germs. They relented he got a different truck and it was sent back to be cleaned and someone else delivered the cargo. I got the rest of the day off as I needed a few stitches. Today I am to report to a different gate where he and I won't meet.

Does it bother anyone else that McCain was a prisoner of war for 5 years under a government that used brain washing to get information? The use of this could also be used to recondition or change a person to do what ever they want, even at a much later date. He seems to be always changing his mind about what he stands for. Also how can he possibly support Bush after what Bush did to him when he ran against him for president in 2000! McCain just doesn't seem to add up to me.
